2018 Nissan Altima vs. 2018 Toyota Camry

The automotive industry always has top performing vehicles in each segment consumers seem to standby. When it comes to the best midsize sedan, two common top contenders are the Nissan Altima and the Toyota Camry. Both vehicles receive positive reviews regularly for their affordability, safety, and cargo space.

Over the years, both vehicles have been extensively updated but still managed to keep their prices affordable. For 2018, the Nissan Altima received new safety feature updates. This year Nissan decided to have their advanced safety features be standard on their base model which includes brake assist, forward collision warning and a few others.

All of us here at Crosby Nissan feel the Nissan Altima is a better option when it comes to comparing it against the Camry.

Price

In terms of pricing, the Nissan Altima base trim begins at $23,260 and goes up depending on the trim of choice. The 2018 Camry’s base model starts at $23,495. Still affordable but slightly higher than the Nissan Altima.

Safety

What stood out in the comparison were the ratings the Altima received for front and side crash safety and rollover safety. Crash safety got a perfect five stars, while the rollover safety saw four stars. These results were given by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Space

Space is not a problem for either vehicle. However, the 2018 Altima outperforms the 2018 Camry with 15.4 cubic feet versus 14.1 cubic feet. It’s also a lot more spacious on the inside, giving your passengers better comfort.
