Get Some Work Done with Atlanta Tool Bank

Get Some Work Done with Atlanta Tool Bank | Atlanta, GAIn 1991, a group of volunteers were providing much-needed repairs to low-income senior neighborhoods in south Atlanta when they realized the cost of tools was hindering their progress. Thanks to the efforts of the loving community, they were able to use donated tools to complete the project and decided to use these same tools to help other organizations.

And so, in 1996, Atlanta Tool Bank was born. Since then, they have been helping local charities get some much-needed work done with a new warehouse that opened in 2013 that features 234 different types of tools with almost 45,000 individual tools in its inventory. Their lending program is designed to help share its resources within the community to better prepare volunteers, so read on if you’re interested in learning more about Atlanta Tool Bank.

The Importance of Tools

Imagine you want to build a fence around a local daycare in your community. Since you are volunteering to help this organization out you have a tight budget that should mostly be spent on materials such as lumber, leaving very little for tools. Buying all the equipment you need can be very costly and with high renting fees you have few options to help and to cut costs.

So, that’s where Atlanta Tool bank comes in. Their organization will loan you the shovels, screwdrivers, and saws needed to get the project done so you can stay within budget. They even have rakes and lawn mowers to then help you maintain the lawns of the daycares for years to come.

Atlanta Tool Bank is committed to bettering the community and raising up the various charities in the area. Their tool renting program allows these organizations to get the work done at a lower cost.
